Hello everyone, just a quick update on what’s going on for the next week. As you read this, I’m on the road, driving to Florida with my good friend, former Maple Leafs goalie Ed Chadwick.
Ed has some important family heirlooms to retrieve from a relative in Florida. He doesn’t like to do that long drive any more, and since this stuff can’t be trusted to an airline, I’ll be driving him down and back. It’s a whirlwind trip and we should be back here in Ontario in about a week.
So this week our columns will be sporadic, at best. If time permits I’ll attempt to put something together, but since this is such a quick back-and-forth type of excursion, that might not be possible, and I want to apologize in advance for that.
The most likely bet is a long summary of the hockey news from this week in October, 1967 upon our return.
Our Twitter account @1967NHLTweets will continue while I’m away. I’ve preprogrammed posts for the next seven days, so the headlines from each will be there.
The good part about all this is that I’ll be able to once again pick Ed Chadwick’s brain for more insight into that great era of hockey. If you have been following along, you’ll know that Ed was with the American Hockey League Buffalo Bisons in 1967-68 and there is much to discuss about that season with him.
Thanks to everyone who follows along – there’s much more to come!
